Hi Golkeepers!
I'm a 16 years old hungarian goalkeeper. I don't satisfied for my speed, and ball catching. How can I be better? If you can help me, please write!

Joggen erhöht doch nicht die Schnelligkeit!
Der sollte Sprints machen...
if i had the word "laufband" in english......
Try to find an athletics club near you. The coaches there will help you a lot when you want to improve your speed on short distances. It improved my sprinting technique and speed by a lot.
If you want to do some training on your own, sprinting short distances with occasional pauses for regeneration would be my advise.
Start with 10m-20m-30m-20m-10m sprints, pause for 2 minutes until you feel able to run again, then do the same or go one step higher with 10-20-30-40-30-20-10. Start from a low position (the standard 100m sprint start) and just run. Don't overdo it though, it may take 3 to 4 weeks until you feel that you have no trouble whatsoever with one of the higher pyramids.
A word on technique:
Every part of your body should move in a straight line, to where you want to run. Don't fling your arms to either side, keep them close to your upper body, moving your angled lower arms in the direction you go. Right-arm-left-foot and vice versa to compensate for imbalances.
When you practice low starts, keep your head low for the first 20m, move forward, not upward, use your momentum from starting to gain speed, not height.
When you have improved you base speed over those short distances, start working on play situations. Stand as you would in a game when recognizing you need to rush out of your goal, run 10 to 20m, repeat.
As for catching... If you are not totally without technique, just practice and your own feel for it will come with time. Maybe some coordinative training to improve your timing, but mostly I'd suggest to just practice.
Where are you located by the way?
Take care.
Thanks guy's!
Ethone! I play in Kaposvar, in the U-17 team. In the Hungarian II. league. I'm the captain like Toni Schumacher. : ) Toni and Olli. They are my favourite goalkeepers. They're fanatics and fantastics!
So listen to Toni an his helping tips for beeing better keeper: the 3 T
1. Training
2. Training
3. Training.
If you are captain in a so important team I think you should go to your president and ask for a personal keepercoach.
"...wer mich ernst nimmt, ist nicht ernst zu nehmen..."
Yes, I know the three T! The "Anpfiff" is my Bible!
Bible??? "Anpfiff" is a biographie and not a traininghelp.
Chose some books/videos from Frans Hoek and you will recieve much more helps for coaching you.
